The Daily grind- Stress induced grinding
Stress has been shown to wreak havoc on our body. Living in NYC is not the easiest place to live. One of the early signs of stress, even before most people truly realize they’re stressed, is grinding (also known as BRUXISM) your teeth, most often in your sleep, when you can not control it.
Not only does grinding cause you to wear down your teeth, it can cause headaches, migraines, muscle spasms, and ear aches. Grinding also causes your to wake up more frequently in the night, and may even wake up your partner if its that loud.
Although we can’t stop grinding, we can protect your teeth, and through the use of special occlusal appliances, such as an NTI, we can often alleviate headaches and muscle soreness in your neck and head.
